Biography

Barbara Manton was born and raised in Covington, Louisiana. She was stationed at various places throughout the United States and Europe while her husband was in the military. She also held a position at the United States National Military Representatives Office at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers of Europe in Mons, Belgium.

Ms. Manton joined The Truitt Law Firm in August of 2003, first as Mr. Truitt’s Paralegal and was then promoted to the Firm’s Chief Operating Officer in 2024. Prior to her employment with the firm, Ms. Manton held a position as a POST Certified Law Enforcement Officer as a Louisiana Dept. Probation and Parole Officer, second with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, and finally she has been a Reserve Training Officer for Gretna Police Department since 2004, while working for The Truitt Law Firm.

She graduated from Covington High School and obtained a Bachelor of Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice Degree from Hardin Simmons University. Ms. Manton is a Louisiana Notary Public. She is also a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (“CASA”) for the 22nd Judicial District Court. Ms. Manton is also a certified Personal Protection Specialist with assignments for VIPs and VVIPs. She is a member of the prestigious Nine Lives Associates. Ms. Manton is the Chief Instructor and Creator for the women’s self-defense class “Empowering Women To ‘Win.’” Also, she is an active member of Church of the King, Mandeville, Louisiana.

Ms. Manton is married, the mother of two grown children, and grandmother of five.
